From 2026: I started going back to Chrysalis when my body was having trouble adjusting from going off the birth control pill (did not have a cycle for 10 months). Justin provided me a customized plan that included acupuncture and herbs, and I was able to get my cycle back after a month of following his plan. I continued seeing him to help regulate my cycle further. The biggest wins are having a lot more energy and having completely painless periods- something I have never experienced as someone with endometriosis. I am so grateful to Justin and Chrysalis! From 2024: I have been going to Chrysalis to help with pain from a chronic condition. Through a combination of herbs and acupuncture, along with dietary changes, I now have little to no pain. It has been several years since I have felt this good. My energy levels and digestion have also improved. Justin is very knowledgeable and great to work with. Tara Long9 July 2025I've seen more improvement in three months of seeing Justin than I saw in 20 years of seeing 'traditional' practitioners. I've been struggling with severe digestive issues and a multitude of other seemingly unrelated symptoms since I was an infant, which over time took a toll on my entire body. They became significantly worse over the last few years. I began to have horrible breakouts all over my face and body. I had eczema so bad my eyes would swell shut. Every meal I ate upset my stomach and I was constantly lethargic and dizzy. After being passed around from specialist to specialist, multiple invasive procedures which yielded no results, and being pressured to take over a dozen different drugs with little to no explanation, I decided to try natural medicine. He continues to address any ongoing or remaining concerns I have. It is one of my core activities to help manage chronic pain and degenerative changes due to aging. The acupuncture has helped restore function. My back muscles feel looser after a treatment. I have stopped sleeping with a cold jell pack at night. The acupuncture treatments, along with physical, water and home therapy exercises I have been gradually met my personal goals. Treatment in the past have included those usually most typically “prescribed”; prescription, massage therapy, physical therapy and well you get the point. While beneficial; they always provided temporary relief. Recently I started exploring and researching for alternative and found an article regarding acupuncture. It pecked my interest and I subsequently made an appointment with Justin Mao at the Chrysalis Natural Medicine Clinic. All it has been AMAZING – after my first acupuncture treatment I immediately felt the most comfort I had in YEARS. Jesse Miller1 November 2021I've been seeing Justin for acupuncture and herbs for about 6 months now. The primary reason for my visits is to treat my endometriosis and infertility - eastern medicine will tell you there's no cure for either. About a month into seeing Justin, the endo pain is gone. I didn't think that was possible. I also have been able to address issues with my thyroid and hormones naturally, without the use of heavy mediciation. I no longer have hypothyroidism and have improved a metric used for fertility that I was told was immovable. I would add that I've had lots of questions along the way, all of which Justin has promptly responded to. And after following his regimen for 2 weeks there were noticeable results and long before I had completed the entire detox period Dr. Tillotson recommended, the eczema was gone and so was my adult acne. Not to mention I lost about 30lbs! (I didn’t even go to Dr. Tillotson for my acne or weight loss but the detox cleared/caused that as well!) I detoxed for approx 60 days and my hands stayed clear until now. And thee only reason my symptoms returned is due to unhealthy eating choices. I have started the detox again on Thursday 1/21/2021 and it’s Sunday 1/24/2021 and already my hands are not cracked and bleeding, they are unbelievably clear in just a few days. He is multi- versed, specializing in western herbal medicine, oriental medicine and ayurvedic medicine. I look up to Alan very much as I take my own personal journey of one day practicing herbal medicine and herbal product design after I finish graduate school. I loved reading his books, as I would constantly refer to the information inside of it many times. I also liked to read more about which herbs I was taking and which herbs were good for me after my treatments with himself or his wife. I liked to read the books if I needed to take anything for my own person health issues, and as I do research in school. It has so much information in materia medica, including information on different herbal traditions of herbal medicine and healing. I highly recommend that you see Alan for your health and well-being. Michele Schlink20 July 2017My husband is a paraplegic. He had a Stage 4 huge open wound/decubiti clear to the bone. Drs. could not get it to heal. After 1-2 wks. of a treatment plan from Dr. Tilitson, the started closing very rapidly. No surgery was needed to close his wound while under Dr. Tilitson care. Now we are back w/ Dr. Tilitson for our 37 yo. son. He has Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer. Drs. feel he's had this for several yrs. without any symptoms until Mother's of 2017. He's now getting Chemo. First treatment yesterday & is VERY VERY sick & in excruciating pain from the tumor. We're Dr. Tilitson treatment plan to make our son healthy & strong will Beas remarkable as his treatment for my husband.
